Belated 結婚一週年 trip day 3
25 May, 2007 (Day 3)
Woke up bright and early today to catch the 630 train in town to Washington D.C. so we can get the earliest ticket to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving.
Though this not my first time visiting, this is the first time I went on a tour. It's always helpful in terms of learning what you are seeing in a tour. Fun and ...shall I say very enRICHing .
After some late breakfast, we swing into the National Aquarium to visit some of my turtle friends because of my love on aquatic habitats.
It is not as big of an aquarium as the New England one (yea this one is in the basement of the Department of Commerce, weird huh), but still plenty to see for an hour or so for the both of us.
Since we had a lot of walking to do, even tho it is pretty pricey to get lunch at the National Mall area, we still had a simple lunch at the Simthonian Hirsonnorn Museum and Sculpture Garden cafe.
That is such a nice Museum, we spent the rest of the afternoon there enjoyed all those art work from the past and present artists. It definitely opened up my creative mind.
Our last stop, the the postal Museum. Both of us were very tired at that point, we spent only about 45 mins there. Not a big museum at all, but very cute I found.
I even got a post card there too!
Before meeting up with ah babe for dinner, we walked around a bit at Georgetown. A pretty nice area for shopping.

Today we went to Dutch country in Pennsylvania. After about less than 2 hours ride, we got into the Amish area.
We took a tour into the Amish village saw how these people live in their not so civilized world. Their lives without electricity, automobiles are simple.
These Amish people are mostly farmers, live in community where they provide most of their own food, has very little contact with the outside world.
They used limited gas instead of electricity in their house, ride on horse wagon instead of cars, all of them wear the same style of out fit.
A life like this has almost no crime rate, very community and united. Things that I think now a days this world is lacking of. A lot of reflection comes along in todays visit at the Amish community.

Trip date: 23May, 2007 (Day 1)
A trip that I have been waiting for, a vacation that I have been so looking forward to has came!
After settling at a nice "hostel"
look how nice our host was... in preparing our bed,
what more can you ask for this room service huh!
We ate cheap burger at turtle pub($3 off all burger on every Mon and Wed),
and they actually service good burger too!
walked around Inner harbor and Fells Point, took many pictures
(show you some previews for now and more pictures to be uploaded) .
ate ice-cream at MaggieMoos at Fall Points
had some awesome Tapes near Penn Station for dinner before headed off to a swing dance night near by Russian club -- Red Wall.
It was very tired but had so much fun danced my night away!

木瓜雪耳南北杏煲雞(食譜)
食材:
木瓜一個
雪耳兩個
紅蘿蔔4條
南北杏20g
雞兩磅
做法:
雞出水
雪耳浸透洗淨
木瓜﹐紅蘿蔔洗淨去皮切件
水大滾落材料
大滾煲十五分鐘轉文火煲個半鐘
落鹽後再大火煲十五分鐘
